Sometimes we are fortunate in life to meet some truly spectacular people. I have been very blessed in that arena, as I have several inspirational friends, and with the help of the March of Dimes for Babies, I can introduce you to one of my favorites.
Meet Maren CaldwellI, teacher extraordinaire, friend, wife and mother. Her story begins much like many of ours, finishing school, starting a career, building a relationship. I met Maren when my son entered the second grade here in North Carolina. The connection between student and teacher was almost instantaneous. Maren is one of those seriously dedicated teachers that really know how to reach their students and make them feel that all things are possible. I don’t think either Christopher or I would have made it out of the second grade without our Maren.
Maren’s life was about to take a very spetacular turn. One day she came to class and shared with her students that she was having a baby. Life was good for Maren and her husband Kevin. After a few months of morning sickness and a severe case of the flu, Maren was back on her feet and feeling great. Maren was growing a son and his name was to be Ayden.
Unfortuantely Maren’s story takes a tragic turn. Maren and Kevin would not have the opportunity to raise their son. Two days before his scheduled arrival, Ayden was called to heaven. As you can imagine, Maren and Kevin were devastated. But through their commitment to one another, they are coping with this loss.
Now they are turning their tragedy into triumph by walking in the March of Dimes for Babies. They are doing their best to help babies stay strong and healthly. And now through the March of Dimes for Babies you can help Maren, Kevin and the millions for Moms, Dads, Sons and Daughters with their fight.
